Colinne dropped by the studio to have some photos taken for the Aveda Canada website and to get some new headshots. Colinne owns several Aveda salons in the Fort Saskatchewan area, one of which is Hair By James and the other is Hair Razors. If you are looking for an amazing stylist, she is the one!
Also check out the Hair By James Facebook group to keep up-to-date on what’s happening in the Salon!
A couple weeks ago I met with the oh-so-talented Jenny Woo to do a shoot for her upcoming album. We shot in my favourite basement (the one that that my studio happens to be in) and in the alleys out back and got some fantastic shots of this talented singer/songwriter. You should definitely check her out on MySpace (yeah, myspace is still useful for musicians!) under the Jenny Woo Project.
Yesterday I popped upstairs to check out the hair show that Celebrity does every year, just for fun! I nabbed a few of the hair models (and my favourite stylist ever, Patricia) to come downstairs and let me take a few shots. I have some shots from the show in the Salon and they will be posted a little later on. Patricia is super-talented and can work magic with hair. If you’re looking for a fabulous hair magician, she is the one! Stop by Celebrity Hair at 10134 105 St. Any way, here’s a few shots!
Also, keep your eyes peeled for coverage by Ashley Champagne in Georgie Magazine (she was the official photographer) and Carla of Electric Green Photography was there shooting too.
Yesterday I shot some very gorgeous ladies sporting some rockin’ hair accessories by Lovely Lady Locks (website coming soon). You can can contact Lovely Lady Locks through facebook for now – http://www.facebook.com/?tid=1352136416023&sk=messages#!/group.php?gid=52204932746. We shot at New City/SubUrbs in the bar area and had a great time! Kate and Brittany were fantastic models and the hair pieces looked great. We shot over 25 different pieces, but here’s just a few 0f the photos for now!
Tammy (from TiAmo Photography) was my first subject in the new studio in downtown Edmonton. She came over to visit and I talked her into posing for me. I wish I loooked this good without make-up and no warning for a photoshoot! I’m still in love with my awesome white leather couches and I think they are going to see a good bit of portrait action in the future! So, here’s a few of Tammy looking fantastic!
Today I headed out with Amy of Island in the Mist Photography to do some new headshots for her website. Amy is a wedding and portrait photographer who works mainly in Alberta and Newfoundland, and has a far better knack for photographing babies than I ever could. Amy and I go waaaaaay back to my troublesome high school years, and I was more than happy to show the world just how adorable she is! I think it is difficult for photographers to be on the other side of the lens, especially myself, but Amy did a great job posing away, even with her poor, cold, sockless feet (all in the name of fashion) when I made her climb in the snow.
Yesterday afternoon I met up with Monica on the chilly streets of Edmonton outside of La Piazza Dasee near Whyte Ave. to take some photos for her newly revamped website. Monica is a WPIC certified wedding and event planner, check out her site if you are in the market for an awesome wedding planner. We’d been chatting over e-mail for the past few weeks prior to the shoot, but yesterday was the first day we met and I liked her right away! She was so much fun and very easy going, not to mention gosh darned adorable as you can see from her photos! We spent a little time outside catching the last remaining rays of the day before ducking into La Piazza Dasee to warm up. They have an awesome cafe area that I didn’t know about, and I just may deviate from Starbucks every so often to go back there!
Here’s a few of images Monica and be sure to go check out her website at www.aisleplanyourday.com!
Earlier today, Jenny came over to do the shoot that we have been trying to do forever and it finally worked out today, except that it was the windiest day ever. She has an album in the works and the sessions today with be used for the album and for promotion, pretty cool hey? We went about various parts of downtown Edmonton, some spots being far seedier than others. Our last stop was the sketchiest with random weirdos wandering around yelling and some junkies spazzing out across the street, one apprently was convulsing for some unknown reason and another had an issue with dropping his pants… good ol’ Edmonton! In spite of the windy weather and the weirdos, we took some great photos and Jenny is just gorgeous! Ok boys, start drooling… who can resist a girl with a guitar???
